Most people are celebrating the New Year today...although the cast and crew of The Fresh Prince Of Bel Air is not. It's been confirmed that James Avery, who played Uncle Phil on the 90's sitcom, has passed away at the age of 65.

Alfonso Ribeiro, who played his son Carlton on the show, confirmed the news with this photo and statement via Twitter, saying:

Not much else has been revealed of his death, other than that he passed away on Tuesday, December 31 in a Los Angeles hospital after complications from a recent heart surgery. His wife, Barbara, was by his side in the hospital, though apparently was not physically with him when he passed, according to TMZ.
