Carrie Underwood, Miranda Lambert and Taylor Swift Lead CMT Music Awards Nominations

Nominations for the Country Music Television (CMT) Awards were announced on the Today show this morning, and the ladies are in the lead!

OK! NEWS: CARRIE UNDERWOOD AND JUSTIN BIEBER AMONG PERFORMERS AT 2012 BILLBOARD MUSIC AWARDS

Carrie Underwood tops the list with five nominations, followed by Miranda Lambert with four and Taylor Swift with three. Carrie's latest hit, "Good Girl," garnered her a nomination for Video of the Year and Female Video of the Year. She was also nominated with Brad Paisley in the Collaborative Video of the Year and Video of the Year categories. Her performance with Steven Tyler from Crossroads was nominated for CMT Performance of the Year.

Carrie's not the only American Idol alum to receive nominations! Last season's Scotty McCreery and Lauren Alaina were both nominated for USA Weekend Breakthrough Video of the Year, and season five's Kellie Pickler scored a nom for Female Video of the Year with her song "Tough."

Miranda Lambert's four nods came in the Video of the Year, Female Video of the Year, Group Video of the Year (with Pistol Annies) and Breakthrough Video of the Year (also with Pistol Annies) categories.

Taylor Swift was recognized twice for her work with The Civil Wars for their Hunger Games tune, "Safe & Sound," receiving noms for Video of the Year and Collaborative Video of the Year; Swift also picked up a solo nomination in the Female Video of the Year category for "Ours."
