CeeLo Green's Secret Arrest

CeeLo Green has never held back about his troubled teen years and anger issues while growing up in southwest Atlanta.

"I was a kleptomaniac, pyromaniac, just plain maniac. I was enraged without an outlet," the Voice coach, born Thomas DeCarlo Callaway, has admitted. "I was aggressive, and I was pretty efficient with it. I took pride in that ability."

But there's one frightening incident fromhis past that CeeLo, 36 — whose parents, both ordained ministers who had died by the time he was 20 — has kept to himself. Star can exclusively reveal that he was arrested in July 2001 for allegedly threatening his then wife, interior designer Christina Johnson, 39 — and was rearrested two months later after he skipped out on his court appearance.

Following their March 2000 marriage, CeeLo and Christina were living in the Atlanta suburb of Fayetteville and had become the parents of Kingston, that September. Ten months later, CeeLo's temper flared out of control.

On July 25, 2001, according to Fayette County (Ga.) State Court documents obtained by Star, Christine called 911 "in reasonable apprehension of receiving violent injury" after CeeLo brandished a wooden statue while they argued outside their home. After running inside, Christina heard the sound of breaking glass — and later discovered that CeeLo had smashed all the windows on their Jaguar before leaving.
