Christina Aguilera Arrested for Public Intoxication; Boyfriend Matthew Rutler Arrested for DUI

Just when Christina Aguilera's name is out of the news, she gets arrested. The singer was reportedly picked up by police this morning in West Hollywood for public intoxication and her boyfriend Matthew Rutler was arrested for driving under the influence, TMZ reports.

According to TMZ, Christina, 30, was arrested at 2:45 a.m and booked at the West Hollywood Sheriff's substation on a misdemeanor charge.

Christina was listed at 5'2" and 100 pounds in the booking documents, TMZ reports.

Her boyfriend Matthew, 25, was arrested for a more serious offense — a DUI.

According to the L.A. County Sheriff's Department, via TMZ, his bail was set at $30,000.

A TMZ source explained, "If the driver had NOT been arrested for DUI, Christina would have never been in trouble" as Christina was "extremely intoxicated" and "unable to take care of herself," according to law enforcement officials.

Another source close to Christina tells TMZ, the singer's friends have been trying to get her into a rehab program for weeks.
