Christina Applegate has bravely been open about her breast cancer battle and double mastectomy and now four years later she is spreading the word in what is Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

The Up All Night star talked about her struggle to More magazine where she referenced a line from Anchorman showing that humor also helped her to get through the dark times.

"I miss my exquisite breasts sometimes," she said but added that she didn't feel she had time to really process what was happening to her because the media found out about her surgery very soon after she had the procedure done.

"The good thing is that we got the information out, but talking about the facts of the disease, I didn't have to see what was going on with me," she explained. "I think when it slowed down, all that came crashing down."

Christina, 40, also admitted that she had a "total emotional collapse" and had to be helped by her loved ones and a spiritual advisor.

One of her special pals was old friend Martyn LeNoble who she reunited with soon after her cancer battle and the pair quickly got together romantically.

"We had always cared deeply for one another when we were friends," Christina shared. "And he came and put me under his wing. That was it - he was supposed to come."

The couple became the proud parents of Sadie Grace in January 2011 and although the actress would love to have another baby she says that it may not be possible.

"Because of some things that happened during my pregnancy, I don't know if I can," she said. "I hope I can. We'll see."
