For a few weeks, it was their little secret: On a romantic trip to Kenya, Prince William proposed to longtime love Kate Middleton on Oct. 20. Only her father — whom Wills had asked for her hand — knew about the engagement. Even Queen Elizabeth and Prince Charles were in the dark.
"He's a true romantic," Kate later said. "It twas a very personal time for both of us."
