Critics Review 'Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark' Too Early; Spokesman Says "Uncool!"

Reviews of Broadway musicals are not suppose to come out before the official opening night, but some reviews were released last night for the March 15 show Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark and now Spidey is not happy.

Reviews hit the Web last night from publications such as The New York Times and The Los Angeles Times for Spider-Man even though it hasn't had its official opening yet!

A spokesman for the show is now speaking out against the early reviews.

“The PILE-ON by the critics was ridiculous and uncalled for," Rick Miramontez, a spokesman for the show, said in a statement to Entertainment Weekly. "Their actions are unprecedented and UNCOOL!”

EW reports that many of the critics did state their Feb. 7 reviews were suppose to run for opening night, but that has been pushed back numerous times.

And part of the problem with the early reviews could be that they're not that good.

Much of the criticism is reportedly directed at the storyline and score, which was composed by U2's Bono and The Edge.
