Hollywood grieves today over the loss of multi-talented actor, writer and director Harold Ramis, who lost his life due to complications with autoimmune inflammatory vasculitis at the age of 69.

On screen Harold is best known for his iconic role in Ghostbusters (for which he also boasts a writing credit), but off-camera he was responsible for penning such film favorites as Animal House, Analyze This and Groundhog Day, while directing a host of others.

Dan Aykroyd took to his Facebook page to express his personal sentiments over the loss of his dear friend, costar and co-writer posting, "Deeply saddened to hear of the passing of my brilliant, gifted, funny friend, co-writer/performer and teacher Harold Ramis. May he now get the answers he was always seeking."
