Christopher Nolan is using social media to his advantage, but fans are also seeing the benefit. The first photo of Tom Hardy as Bane in The Dark Knight Rises has been released!

The film launched an official website TheDarkKnightRises.com to help promote the movie in a new exciting way.
Fans quickly realized there was a clue to decode on the site and once the figured out it was "#thefirerises" they started Tweeting, MTV News reports.
Fans were then lead to Twitter.com/TheFireRises and realized that for every person that followed the Twitter an image was added a mosaic photo of Tom as Bane.
Pretty clever, Christopher!
But it was reportedly fans who uncovered full image before it was finished.
