Debbie Reynolds' passing shocked the nation, as she tragically died just one day after her daughter Carrie Fisher died. Carrie died days after suffering a massive heart attack while on a flight from London to Los Angeles. She never regained consciousness.

Now, an insider told RadarOnline that Debbie, 84, died largely due to heartbreak. “Debbie said she was strong yesterday, but I think the death of Carrie sunk in overnight and she just gave up.”

She was taken to a hospital in Los Angeles on Wednesday after suffering a stroke, and her condition went from fair to serious quite rapidly.

“Family, friends and colleagues have been at the hospital and we all hoped she would pull through,” the insider continued.

Sadly, that was not the case. Her stroke reportedly occurred while Debbie was at her son Todd’s home discussing funeral arrangements for her daughter.
