Denise Richards wants to respect Charlie Sheen by not divulging details on what happened earlier this week in her ex-husband's Plaza Hotel room during their stay in NYC. Denise was staying across the hall with their two daughters during the incident and while she does not want to share what happened, the actress does admit helping Charlie to the hospital.

"I'd rather leave that for Charlie to discuss, if that's something he wants to do, because that's something very personal and private. The thing is that my daughters are 5 and 6, and they're at an age where they can start to understand. They have no idea what went on, and our stuff happened when they were much younger, which I'm so grateful for," Denise told CNN's Joy Behar in an interview Tuesday night.

While Charlie's rep attributed his hospital stay to an "allergic reaction," early reports claim the actor's room was trashed during a drunken binge.

The New York Post reports Charlie, 45, was found naked and drunk in his suite with an escort.

The Two and a Half Men allegedly admitted to doing cocaine and his altered stated caused him to trash the room, causing $7,000 in damages, according to the New York Post.

Charlie was spending the weekend with Denise, 39, and their daughters, Sam, 6, and Lola, 5, in the Big Apple, and the foursome explored the city including a trip to the Museum of Natural History.

"We're in an amazing place. We've been getting along great for the last year-and-a-half, and we're doing our best. So as far as that situation, I'm just trying to protect the girls from it as much as possible," Denise told Joy of ending the feud with Charlie.

She adds that Charlie is never under the influence when he is with their daughters.

"I would never allow that," Denise said.  "He's their dad, and I have a lot of faith in him."
