Alex Pettyfer and Dianna Agron's split came at a really bad time since they're promoting their new film, I Am Number Four. So what exactly went wrong and perhaps more important to fans — who's to blame?

It seemed Alex and Dianna were so in love and then so suddenly done.
According to an E! News source, Alex was reportedly "a little controlling."
"He would always take her phone and read her messages and seemed really paranoid that she would cheat," the source says. "Dianna would never do that."
But was it really Alex who was looking for love elsewhere?
"Let's just say a lot of us think his crazy suspicions came from somewhere," the source explained. "And it wasn't worry over what Dianna was doing."

But love is always more complicated than it appears on the surface, so lets not be too quick to judge!
"They were very in love, they are young, sometimes things just don't work out," another source close to Alex says.
We hope they'll be able to get through any other promotional work they'll have to do for their film!
