Less than one week after being critically injured in a plane crash that killed four people last weekend, celebrity DJ, Adam "DJ AM" Goldstein, has been released from the Georgia hospital where he and friend, rock star Travis Barker, have been under medical care.

"Adam Goldstein has been released from Doctors Hospital," reads a statement released by his rep. "While he is deeply saddened by the events, he is thankful for all of the love and support he has been receiving from fans and friends world wide. We ask that you continue to respect his privacy as he rests and heals and mourns the loss of his friends."

The plane carrying AM and Travis crashed on Sept. 19 during takeoff from South Carolina's Columbia Metropolitan Airport. Four people, including Travis' assistant and good friend Chris Baker, were killed in the accident. The two stars were transported to the hospital where they were treated for severe burns.

On Tuesday, Dr. Fred Mullins, medical director of the Joseph M. Still Burn Center, shared the good news that both of Travis and AM would make a full recovery, but warned that it would not be a quick healing process. "It can take up to a year to heal," Dr. Mullins explained.
