Based on the award-winning play, Doubt will leave you breathless. Father Flynn (Hoffman) is accused of a heinous act by Sister Aloysius (Streep), the uptight principal of the school where he works. Sister James (Adams) believes the priest is innocent, but even without a shred of proof, Sister Aloysius stands convinced of his guilt. Streep and Hoffman’s turbulent standoffs are astounding. It’s a fight to the end, but that reinforces the title.
