It's hard to believe it's been nearly ten years since Elizabeth Smart was kidnapped from her home in Utah and held captive for nine months. Now at 23, she's emerging in the spotlight again, this time she'll be working in front of the camera to contribute to missing persons stories on Good Morning America and possibly Nightline as well.

ABC spokeswoman Julie Townsend told The Daily Beast, "This is definitely not about looking backward and telling her story, which has been well told and retold." Basically, Elizabeth's role will focus on “helping viewers understand missing-persons stories from the perspective of knowing what a family experiences when a loved one goes missing.”

She'll appear when "there are children or missing person casess in the news."And just in case you're wondering if it's any coincidence her new job was related to timing of the Casey Anthony trial, think again. Julie squashed that notion and said, "This has been in the works for months."
