Erin Andrews Reveals Her Secret to Surviving a Crazy Work Schedule

Erin Andrews' schedule is quite simply crazy. The woman is constantly on the go between her sports reporting obligations and her new Dancing with the Stars co-host gig. So how on Earth does she get everything done and look so good while doing it? The answer actually hits pretty close to home for the Florida native—she relies on her 100 percent Florida Orange Juice. OK! chatted with Erin about maintaining a healthy lifestyle while on the run and what it's been like returning to the Dancing with the Stars ballroom.

OK!: How do you kick start your day?

Erin Andrews: I am everywhere and when football season starts it’s going to be crazier, which is hard to believe, but I’m from Florida and when you’re from Florida it’s pretty natural to have orange juice everywhere. I love orange juice. I was telling my mom the other day, I said, “I’m going to start working with 100 percent Florida Orange Juice,” and she said, “Well that’s good because you actually like their product a lot.” My fridge at Dancing with the Stars is packed with it and it’s really what I do when I’m on the road or when I’m off the road. I grab a glass of 100 percent Florida Orange Juice in the morning. It’s got a lot of vitamins in it, gives you natural energy and it makes me feel like I’ve done my body a service.

OK!: What else do you do to stay healthy?

EA: For me working out is the key. I need to stay in shape mentally and physically. I work with men, former football players and guys who enjoy a good night out and good meals. My first season of football I probably gained the freshman 15  maybe 10 years ago because you go out to dinner with all of these guys who are ex-athletes and they really enjoy a good meal and you’re just like, “Wow, okay, I’m loving these four different appetizers and these huge steak meals and dessert.” But portion control has really taken care of that. You don’t have to finish every single meal. You just have to be careful. That goes for what I snack on on the sidelines. I’m out on the field for four to five hours during a game and so I used to have M&Ms and sodas out there and now it’s like water, 100 percent Florida Orange Juice, anthing that’s really good for my body. Trail mixes, yogurt, energy bars are all things I make sure to have. You just really have to be careful because you’re not getting the work out you need while you’re on the road.

OK!: How do you approach your interviews for Dancing with the Stars differently from your sideline reporting?

EA: It’s actually not different at all. When you think about football and baseball you do all of your research heading into the game. I read all of the articles about what the players are up to and for Dancing with the Stars I watch their video packages throughout the week. I hear about their weeks from the producers. Rehearsals in the sports world is very much like going to practice, then they have their big performance which is very much like watching the game. So we have our set of questions the producers would like me to hit on going into the show, just like I have questions that I want to ask the athletes. Then the performance happens, the game happens and we don’t know how the game is going to end. We don’t know how the performance is going to go. You react off of that. So it’s very much the same as it is in sports.

OK!: Is it fun for you to be back there after being a contestant?

EA: Oh gosh, yeah. I wouldn’t have taken the job if I wasn’t looking forward to being back there. Dancing with the Stars is such a family and I almost call it the Dancing with the Stars mafia. They’re such a big family and fun-loving group. I didn’t need to add another thing to my schedule unless I really wanted to be around everybody so it’s wonderful to be back.
