Fame Is a "Naked Nightmare" Say Conchords Stars

Have you ever wondered what it feels like to become famous?

Well, it's not as fun as you might imagine, according to the stars of HBO's hit show, Flight of the Conchords.

In fact, Jemaine Clement and Bret McKenzie say the best way to describe sudden notoriety is like being in one of those terrible naked nightmares.

"You might walk into a bar, and everyone's quiet. It's really a weird feeling," explains Jemaine, whose surreal musical sitcom became something of an overnight hit during its first season.

But is that a cool feeling?

"It depends if you're feeling cool," he said at a screening party for the second season of the show. "If you're in a confident mood, then it might be pretty good. If you're not, then you feel like your fly's undone."

Correcting himself, he says, "It's worse than if your fly's undone — it feels like your fly's undone and everything is hanging out."

Co-star Bret agrees, "It's a bit like that nightmare people have when they're naked at school."

Hmmm... maybe we won't audition for the next season of The Real World after all.

New episodes from the second season of Flight of the Conchords are currently airing at 10pm ET on Sundays on HBO.
