George Clooney is lending his strong star power to throw twin sold-out fundraising events for Barack Obama's presidential campaign tonight in the Swiss city of Geneva.

For $1,000 each, 170 contributors will get to attend a cocktail party with the accomplished actor-director at a museum in Geneva's Old Town; for $10,000 big ones 75 lucky donors will be treated to "an intimate seated dinner" with George at a private apartment.

If you're in the area and hoping to tap into that secret Swiss bank account and grab a ticket, you're out of luck – both events are sold out.

"It is fully subscribed," said organizer Charles Adams on local morning radio. Adams, who also serves on Barack's National Finance Committee adds that attendees are coming in from every direction to attend the event.

"Actually most of our guests for dinner are coming from elsewhere –people are flying in from Los Angeles, Prague, London, Zurich and so on."

George slipped quietly into Switzerland, avoiding a flurry of fan activity, after doing his rounds at the Venice Film Festival to promote his latest movie, Burn After Reading, which co-stars Brad Pitt.

"I personally assured George Clooney that Geneva is a city where reserve is a way of life, that he won't be attacked by fans trying to tear off his shirt," Adams told the daily Le Temps.
