As ER enters its 15th and final season, producers have already managed to bring back a few familiar faces – Anthony Edwards, Laura Innes, Paul McCrane and Noah Wyle among them – that made the show so popular for so long.

But fans holding out for George Clooney to come back as Dr. Ross shouldn't hold their breath – his publicist says the Ocean's 11 actor is a no-go as far as ER goes.

"He is on record as saying he is not coming back," says George's publicist, Stan Rosenfield, according to Reuters. "It is something he has already done. He is busy making movies."

However if George does find himself with a break between movies, ER's producers say they're ready with a story line for Dr. Ross and nurse Carol Hathaway, played by Julianna Margulies.

Executive producer David Zabel tells TV Guide he's "optimistic that we might be able to get them all. We have a really good story line for every (major) character from the past to show (the actors) what we want to do."
