The Dave Matthews Band has reached eminent status in the music industry, holding five debut albums on the Billboard 200 and a Grammy win. Once again, DMB will take the Grammy stage to perform — nominated for two awards including Album of the Year for Big Whiskey and the Groogrux King. While winning is not a priority, frontman Dave Matthews recently told the Associated Press that this year's Grammys hold special meaning.

"I live in my own tree and I'm pretty out of touch with a lot of what's going on — the mechanics that's going on with the Grammys and the industry in general," Dave told the AP. "But to get that was a real thrill for me ... because of what the album meant to us and because of the loss of LeRoi Moore and because of the love that we put into making this."

DMB celebrates its 20th anniversary this year, something the band almost did not reach after creative differences threatened a split followed by the sudden loss of founding member LeRoi Moore, who died after an ATV accident in 2008.

"This band now as it is, is in a very new and very dynamic, very encouraged phase," Dave said. "Overall this last tour was one of the best. The emotional connection and the band and the music that we are making ... is good or as better than we've ever sounded."

Be sure to catch the DMB perform and vie for a Grammy title on January 31 at 8 p.m. on CBS.
