Lovebirds Heather Locklear and Jack Wagner proved they were pitch-perfect when they attended her 11-year-old daughter Ava's  (dad is Bon Jovi's Richie Sambora) soccer game in Calabassas on Jan. 15.

According to an eyewitness, they were "all smiles" and Jack, 49, even gave Heather, 47, a kiss as he walked her to her car.

"They make a great couple," says Tara Simmons, a waitress at Marmalade Cafe in Thousand Oaks. "Those are two people who really like each other's company. When she's done eating there's usually food left on her plate. He slides it over and finishes it off. That's when you know it's love!"

Indeed, Jack stood by Heather's side during her most difficult times last year which included a June rehab stint for anxiety and depression and a September arrest for suspicion of DUI (the charges were dropped Jan. 2).

"They just seem right for each other," adds Simmons. Fans and TV honchos must agree: the couple, who met in 1994 on the set of Melrose Place, may soon ressurect their roles on a remake of the show.
