Jack White and Alicia Keys' performance for the newest James Bond film Quantum Solace theme song, "Another Way to Die," has already made history as the first duet in Bond movie history. Jack recently commented for the first time on the creative process involved in recording the trac.

"I drummed for her voice and she mimicked the guitar tones," Jack says of Alicia, "then we joined our voices and screamed and moaned about these characters in the film and their isolation, having no one to trust, not even themselves.  Maybe we became them for a few minutes."

The song, written, produced and performed by both musicians, was the culmination of years of waiting to record together, says Jack.

"After a couple of years of wanting to collaborate with Alicia Keys, it took James Bond himself to finally make it happen," he reveals. " Alicia put some electric energy into her breath that cemented itself into the magnetic tape. Very inspiring to watch. It gave me a new voice, and I wasn't myself anymore."

Joined in the studio by The Memphis Horns, Jack says additional musicians from Nashville also helped with the historic track. " We wanted to push soul into those tapes, and join the family of Barry, Bassey, Connery and Craig."

Quantum of Solace will hit theaters in November. Meanwhile Jack will be on the road for a series of festival dates in Europe with his band The Raconteurs on Aug. 23. Catch his North Americna tour starting Sept. 16 in Oregon.
