, 68, brought his wife of nine years, , 65, to a screening of his wartime adventure flick, . What did she think of it?
“She laughed and laughed,” he tells me during interviews held at NYC’s Regency Hotel. “The minute I came on screen, she started this belly laugh. She laughed at all the jokes. She politically thought it was very pertinent. She asked a lot of questions afterwards. She has a huge curiosity about things.”
Babs doesn’t like everything, however. “We sat through Death at a Funeral the other night, and nothing out of her. It’s so overdone. They pushed a little too much on the jokes.”
What makes them a great couple?
“I have no control over her, and she has no control over me. It’s a great relationship. I was in two marriages where they’d say ‘it took thirty minutes to get here, and you got here in forty minutes. What did you do with the other 10 minutes?’ Um, bye.”

The actor says he based his journalist character on Sam Donaldson.
“When they started doing my hair, I said, ‘No, no, no, no, no… give me the stuff and I’m going up to the room. I’ll see you in the morning. We’ll shoot the way I show up.’ He’s just trying to cover up. He doesn’t want anyone to know there’s any hair missing.”
The Hunting Party is out Friday in New York and L.A., and opens nationwide Sept. 14.
