Comedy Legend Jerry Lewis Dead At Age 91

The legendary, actor, comedian, singer, and director, Jerry Lewis has died at the age of 91.

According to the Las Vegas Review-Journal, the multifaceted entertainer passed away at 9:15 a.m. on Sunday, August 20, at his home in Las Vegas.

Jerry was best-known for his comedy act with singer Dean Martin, his single “Rock-a-Bye Your Baby," which sold nearly four million copies, and his roles in CinderfellaThe Geisha Boy and The Nutty Professor.

He was also well-known for his humanitarian and philanthropic efforts as he began hosting telethons in the 1950s to benefit the Muscular Dystrophy Association, which were televised every Labor Day weekend from 1966 to 2010, and raised more than $2.6 billion for research.

The comedian was even nominated for a Nobel Peace Price for his charity work in 1977.

Jerry has two stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame – one for his Television performances and another for his film performances.

He received a lifetime achievement award by the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences, back in 2009.

Lewis is survived by his second wife, SanDee Pitnick, and six children.
