'Jersey Shore' Italy Season Sparks Controversy with Italian Group

The backlash to the Jersey Shore crew's trip to Italy has already begun. According to one of the nation's leading Italian American associations, the guidos and guidettes heading across the Atlantic will only serve to make Italian Americans look like "buffoons and bimbos."
"People used to go to the circus to see the freak show – that is what this will be," a rep for UNICO — dubbed "The Largest Italian American Service Organization in the USA" — told TMZ of MTV's decision to shoot Season 4 in Italy.
"It will not only hurt Italians but all Americans … their outrageous, reprehensible behavior will make us look like buffoons and bimbos."
This isn't the first time UNICO has lashed out against the show.
They were the first group to call for a boycott for the reality series, claiming it's a "denigration" of Italian Americans, according to TMZ.
