Joe Francis Asks Madonna Not to Sing "Girls Gone Wild" at Super Bowl

Girls Gone Wild creator Joe Francis has formally asked singer Madonna, according to new reports, not to sing one of her latest singles “Girls Gone Wild” while performing at the Super Bowl Halftime Show this Sunday in Indianapolis.

"Girls Gone Wild's trade identity and trademark are extremely valuable assets which my clients protect vigorously,” Joe’s lawyer David Houston wrote in a cease and desist letter obtained by E! Online, which was sent to the “Like a Virgin” artist, NBCUniversal and the NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell this week.

According to the document, David claims that Madonna has, "violated Federal and State trademark laws,” with the title of her still unreleased track and therefore, should not perform the number on stage this weekend.

The 53-year-old, who will perform a 12-minute set at Super Bowl XLVI on Sunday, is slated to release her latest album MDNA in March.
