Being a celebrity isn't all about showing up on the red carpet, it can also be about using your influence to help those in need. That's why Joel Madden, along with brother Benji, joined with UNICEF as ambassadors to help with humanitarian efforts in Africa.

Joel recently posted a video on the MySpace Celebrity site with a message from the time he spent in Sam Ouandja in the Central African Republic admitting he's fallen in love with the small town.

"That's why I work with UNICEF, because you can see the work and the money and all that that's raised," he says. "It really goes somewhere. You get to see that it actually works, that it actually is helping people and it's peopel who need it are getting what they need, in this case, clean water. It's amazing."

The Good Charlotte Rocker also wants his generation to do what they can to help others as well.

"I just want to say to everybody in our generation, who's my age, or younger or a little older, all your work and all your efforts can really change the world. 25,000 children die every day due to preventable cause," he adds, "Things like no clean water, sanitation, health... and those are things that we can change.

We're  making headway right now and we need more people to get involved, especially from our generation. We have an obligation to, so get involved."
