On Tuesday night, Larry King took a break from interviewing heads of state, titans of industry and stars of the silver screen to interview someone even more important — reality super breeder Kate Gosselin.

Kate played coy when answering most of Larry's questions about her soon-to-be swingin' single hubby Jon Gosselin, and even more coy when asked about the future of the family's TLC show, Jon & Kate Plus 8.

Kate did say that, despite being a self-described hot-head with a quick temper, she isn't looking for a war from her Ed Hardy-loving ex. "The goal is peace and we've achieved that numerous times," she told Larry. "The Fourth of July we spent together as a family. And my goal is, no matter what the circumstance, no matter what place one of us is in, my goal is really peace and the best that it can be for the kids."

Speaking of their eight children, Kate reveals, "They're doing remarkably well. This has opened up a lot of discussions between them and myself. A lot of questions come my way. And we're dealing with it."

Though Larry gave Mama Gosselin many a chance to sling mud at Jon, she let those questions slide by, explaining, "I don't want them to see or hear anything on TV that I didn't discuss with them... But I don't feel like I need to go any further than that at this time."

Kate also confessed to having to fight her natural tendency to "freak out" over every small detail. "It is very hard. And I have my hard days," she confessed. "And I have days where, you know, I don't always say the right thing or do the right thing or phrase things the way that I should. But generally speaking, my rule of thumb is I want to be positive, I want to look forward and I want the kids to look back on all that they're going to see of me and know that I did my best."

There was a slight dent in Kate's wall of positivity when she was asked whether or not she thinks Jon is a good father.

"He is," she said after a considerable pause. "His decisions right now are not ones that I would necessarily make. But down deep in his heart, I know that he is."

As for her own post-Jon future, Kate says there's no chance for a new love in her life anytime soon. "No.  Too busy.  Sorry," she declared. And though she says she doesn't think that being the mother of eight kids will be a turn-off for a prospective fella, she did admit, "I'm lonely, but I'm -- I'm very busy and, actually, I'm all right."
