Katharine McPhee Opens Up on Her Battle with Bulimia

Katharine McPhee rocks a toned, bikini bod in a bright pink suit on the February cover of Shape magazine. The Idol alum opens up to the fitness mag about her battle with bulimia and adopting a healthy lifestyle. “The more I focused on my weight, the worse my bulimia got," Katharine shares.
"Now I’m more easygoing. I stopped fighting myself and became more forgiving of my body. Ironically, the weight came off naturally through exercise but no dieting.”

The songstress/actress says she learns to avoid the number on the scale and focuses on her health first.
“At my last physical, the nurse took my vitals and said, ‘Wow, you must be taking care of yourself! Your blood pressure is perfect. You’re very healthy,’ " she tells Shape. "Hearing her say that made me feel better than seeing an ‘ideal’ number on the scale.”
