“I figured if I participated in this show and got on board with E! — whose generation of viewers I think is a generation younger than ours — it would help the whole dynamic of daytime," Kelly explained.

Why did she do another reality show after her winning turn on Dancing With The Stars?

“Interesting enough I always subtitle my reality shows, I kind of see this as a docu-soap, reality-based program. Look, the truth of the matter is that daytime is in a really desperate position right now and we’re a dying breed. I felt like it’s somewhat my responsibility if I want daytime to remain on the map to try and generate more viewers, publicity, awareness that we’re still here and kicking.”

Dirty Soap also stars her GH bestie Kirsten Storms, who is doing okay after being temporarily recast due to illness.

“She’s good," Kelly told OK!. "She’s got some medical condition she’s dealing with right now, we all have our prayers and wishes out for a very speedy recovery.”

Filming the new show didn’t change their friendship however.

“No. I think we were always pretty close, this certainly hasn’t changed the dynamic of our friendship. Now we’re taking more trips together, that’s pretty awesome. Kirsten and I have always been close.”

Anything happen that Kelly didn’t expect? Maybe!

“There were a few things, you’ll have to tune in. There were a few things that happened that I don’t think I’m going to do, but I wind up doing. It pushes the envelope a little bit on influences, say Kirsten or your friends or family. Yeah man, it’s reality, it’s crazy. It’s crazy to be in a vulnerable position. People sort of have access to your private, personal life.”

You can catch this reality on Sunday, Sept. 25 at 10 p.m. on E!.
