Kiefer Sutherland did the crime and decided to immediately start doing the time. The 24 actor was sentenced on Wednesday to 48 days in jail for his second drunk-driving arrest in three years, and immediately reported to the Glendale, Calif., city jail to begin serving his time.
In October, Sutherland was found driving with a blood-alcohol level above the California legal limit of .08. In addition to serving jail time, Sutherland must also pay a $510 fine, enroll in an 18-month alcohol-education class and attend weekly alcohol-therapy sessions.

This isn’t Sutherland’s first alcohol-related run-in with the law. At the time of his October arrest he was on probation for charges stemming from a 2004 DUI incident which he was sentenced to five years’ probation, 50 hours of community service and ordered to attend an alcohol treatment program. He was also convicted of alcohol-related reckless driving in 1993.
Said Sutherland of his most recent troubles, "I'm very disappointed in myself for the poor judgment I exhibited recently, and I'm deeply sorry for the disappointment and distress this has caused my family, friends and co-workers."
