Sir Elton John and David Furnish are proud dads of newborn son Zachary Jackson Levon Furnish-John, who the couple welcomed Christmas Day via a surrogate. And little Zachary is about to have a very proud godmother, Lady Gaga! Well, maybe as it looks like David spilled the beans in a recent interview with Macleans Canada weekly magazine.
"We haven’t publicly confirmed that yet but your sources are very good," David told the Canadian publication. "I prefer not to comment on it because we are going to make a statement about godparents later on."
Besides Lady Gaga's LBGTQ advocacy and her superstar status, David feels her close connection to fans makes Gaga a well-rounded artists and ranks her with legends like his husband and Madonna.
"The strongest thing that Gaga has — putting her amazing musical talent aside — is that she has such a connection with her fans. She has 25 million followers on Facebook and she communicates to fans via Twitter in a regular, ongoing way.
"She’s all about inclusiveness and tolerance. She believes that you can be whoever you want to be and that we don’t have to live in a world of conformity and that we can all benefit from individuality. That’s the best message in the world. The freedom to be who you are, do what you want and love who you want to love."
So it seems like, according to David, Gaga will be little Zach's godmother and we bet she would be honored to take another Little Monster under her wing.
Wonder if Elton and David's son will try the new British delicacy Baby Gaga breast milk ice cream?
