Lady Gaga's Message to Fans: Don't See Me As a "Human Being"

Lady Gaga may try and shock with her controversial behavior but the "Alejandro" singer insists she's no diva — she's just staying in character.

Recent controversy including making profane gestures photographers at City Field and making a scene in the Yankees' clubhouse in her underwear, but she says, "This is showbiz for me".

"I don't want people to see that I'm a human being," the artist formerly known as Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta, tells Rolling Stone magazine via the New York Daily News.

"I'm not a diva, in any sense of the word," Gaga, 24, says. But, she is totally committed to her pop alter ego.

“I don't even drink water onstage in front of anybody, because I want them to focus on the fantasy of the music,” she says, reports CNN.

Gaga’s newest album is set to release in early 2011 and she's already got ideas about the cover design: "I think I'm gonna get the album title tattooed on me and put out the photo."

Despite her indomitable public persona, Gaga admits she also has her bad days. "When I wake up in the morning, I feel just like any other insecure 24-year-old girl," she says. "Then I say, 'B****, you're Lady Gaga, you get up and walk the walk today.' "
