UPDATE: Sheriff's spokesperson Steve Whitmore just addressed the media in a press conference outside the courthouse and explained a female inmate in Lindsay's situation generally serves 25% of their sentence, meaning LiLo will probably spend 25 days in the slammer.

Lindsay Lohan has been sentenced to 90 days in jail for violation of her DUI probation, followed by a 90-day stay in inpatient rehab program, TMZ reports.

Judge Marsha Revel sentenced Lindsay today after a long court probation hearing led by prosecutor, Danette Meyers, who continuously told the Judge Lindsay had been breaking her violation and acting in total disregard of the judge's rule.

The judge said there was a pattern of violations since Lindsay was placed on probation in 2007 following her plea bargain in her DUI case.

A teary-eyed Lindsay broke down as she addressed the court, telling the judge, "I did the best I could."

Lindsay apologized multiple times and tried to explain why she missed alcohol education classes.

The starlet explained that as far as she knew, she was in compliance with the law and did her best to balance making a living with her alcohol ed classes.

Lindsay broke down into tears when the judge declared her 90-day sentence.

She must surrender for her prison sentence on July 20 in Judge Revel's court.

The onslaught of legal battles began for Lindsay in June 2007 when she was arrested and taken into custody for suspicion of drunk driving and cocaine possession.

One month earlier, she was arrested on another DUI charge, after which she spent a total of 84 minutes in jail after pleading guilty to two misdemeanor counts of being under the influence of cocaine and no contest to two counts of driving with a blood-alcohol level above 0.08 percent and one count of reckless driving.

She was charged with three years of probation, but in October asked for a year-long extension because she had fallen behind on her court-ordered alcohol-education classes.
