Even Elizabeth Taylor is being inspired to change by President Barack Obama, as she explains why she gave $100,00o to the alliance for Christian Education. According to the AP, the organization is based in Santa Barbara, Calif. and will help fund the alliance's pilot program for global outreach and the Providence Hall Christian high school.

The Oscar-winner, who's Jewish and has focused most of her philanthropic efforts on HIV/AIDS, explains that her choice was influenced by the new president. She says in a statement that she gave to the charity "because our new president challenged us to break down barriers that divide us.''
