NEWSNorth Carolina Homeowners Upset Over Unfinished House On ‘Love It Or List It’
A couple in North Carolina signed up to get the home of their dreams but things quickly went downhill for them! They are suing the producer of the hit HGTV show Love It or List It, according to the Associated Press.
In April 2015, Deena Murphy and Timothy Sullivan were selected to be on the show but were unsatisfied with the final results of their home.
Hilary Farr and David Vistenin are the hosts of the makeover show. Hilary redesigns and remodels the interior while David attempts to sway the homeowners with a new property that’s for sale. After the final reveal, they have a choice: to love their home or list it.
According to the Charlotte Observer, Deena and Timothy decided to stay in their home but were surprised by the shoddy construction. The couple is suing Big Coast TV and Aaron Fitz Construction for mishaps like windows painted shut, "low-grad industrial carpeting,” and holes in the floor, which rodents could enter through!
The pair is also saying they were never shown other homes on the market and didn’t want Fitz Construction not renovate their home because of their low ratings online. Deena and Timothy claimed they budgeted $140,000 for the project but only $85,786.50 was used!

The lawsuit stated, "These characters Farr and Visentin are actors or television personalities playing a role for the camera and in this case none of them played more than a casual role in the actual renovation process.” The parties involved are planning on defending these allegations which they will prove to be false.
