Looks like someone should remind Macy Gray about the hazards of being on live TV. Last night, while making her debut on Dancing with the Stars, the singer shocked the ballroom with an inappropriate comment after her bizarre take on the Viennese waltz.

After host Samantha Harris asked Macy what her first DWTS performance was like, the singer said, “I just busted my cherry,” a comment that was ultimately bleeped out of both the east and west coast broadcasts of the show.

“When Macy made the comment about losing her dance virginity, it was definitely a shocker," Samantha told OK! after the show. "We were used to former DWTS competitor Cloris Leachman making some broad comedic statements that were somewhat shocking, but I think Cloris would have blushed from this. But I think it’s what makes Macy such a great addition to our show—she’s exactly who she is. I’m sure it will find its way onto YouTube. The stage managers and cast were blown away. I actually had to turn away from camera and step out because I was laughing that she’d said something so shocking on camera but I think worse has been done on live TV.”

Macy’s anatomically inappropriate interview certainly had the ballroom buzzing! “Holy cow,” dance pro Chelsie Hightower laughed to OK! “That was hilarious!” But her partner, snowboarder Louie Vito, who performed Monday night, said, “I’m a huge Macy Gray fan. She doesn’t care, that’s what’s awesome about it. She’s just being herself.”

Macy herself explained to OK!, “I thought that’s like a regular — what do you call it? — colloquialism? Common usage. My excitement was that it the dance was the first time and we finally did it. That was the best analogy I could think of for the first time you do something.”

Standing beside her, the singer’s partner Jonathan Roberts laughed, “Ladies and gentleman, Macy Gray!” She earned 15 for her Viennese waltz performance and a 4 for her cha cha relay dance. Macy admitted, “I was really terrified backstage.” Judge Bruno Tonioli said her waltz was like “watching a child taking his first steps.”
