Madonna to Sit in Director's Throne for Movie on British Royal Scandal

The Queen of Pop is set to direct a movie about a controversial American divorcée whose affair with King Edward VIII sparked a British constitutional crisis.
Madonna will helm W.E., a film about Wallis Simpson and her affair with Edward, which prompted him to abdicate so he could marry the woman he loved, reports ET Online, just before the outbreak of World War II.

Up in the Air star Vera Farmiga is being considered to play Wallis, but the throne is still empty for the role of Edward VIII.
