Michael McKean, Star of 'This is Spinal Tap' Gets Hit By Car in NYC

Talk about a scary incident! Yesterday afternoon, Michael McKean was hit by a car in NYC while he was en route to a theater for his performance in Gore Vidal's The Best Man.

The actor and writer with an illustrious list of credits including This is Spinal Tap and Laverne & Shirley remains hospitalized, as per E! News. He suffered a broken leg and has been upgraded from critical to stable condition.

He was hit before 3 p.m. in the Upper West Side and his wife and Smallville star, Annette O'Toole, was in the process of flying to NYC from L.A. to be by his side. Michael's made a ton of guest appearances on various shows such as Castle, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Happy Endings and Homeland.
