Michelle Carter has been sentenced to prison followed by probation in the texting suicide case.

The 20-year-old was sentenced August 3rd following her conviction for involuntary manslaughter. The judge handed down a prison sentence of two and a half years, however, he said that Michelle will only serve 15 months of that term, followed by a period of probation.

She was found guilty of causing the 2014 suicide of her boyfriend Conrad Roy after she repeatedly urged him to take his own life in a series of text messages.
