Miley Cyrus will no longer have to work as hard to separate herself from the Hannah Montana character she plays on TV because the upcoming fourth season will be the last.

Disney officials told the New York Post that Hannah Montana will end after the fourth season.

This doesn't come as much of a surprise since Miley has made it no secret over the past year that she is ready to move forward.

Though Miley may feel done with her Hannah Montana show, her fans may not be. The show is still one of the most successful kids' show ever and still pulls in an average of 5 million viewers a week.

"You never know in this business, Disney Channel Worldwide's Adam Bonnett, senior VP/programming said. "But right now we're scheduled to wrap forever after shooting this new batch of episodes."

Production on the fourth season is scheduled to begin Jan. 18 and will premiere "in last spring," Bonnett said. "The new episodes will continue to roll out at least over a full year."

Season four will reflect Miley's real life stuggle with leaving the character that made her famous.

"It's one of the things she's been wrestling with for months," Bonnett explained. "Whether it's time to make a decision to continue being Hannah Montana or just be a regular, ordinary girl."

The fianle of season three, "Is Miley Saying Goodbye?" is set to air in mid-March and Bonnett said it will be "a big one-hour event where we find out what Miley Stewart's decision is going to be."
