Forget about health care, the economy or combat in Iraq and Afghanistan, one of President Barack Obama‘s biggest public relations problems in his first term has been having to give his State of the Union address on the same night as Lost returns for its sixth and final season. Luckily, that situation was resolved, because Obama almost lost a supporter in the hit ABC show’s co-creator, Damon Lindelof.
At a press conference to promote the new season, lifelong Democrat Damon joked that when he’s heard Obama’s speech was also set for Feb. 2, he thought, “that motherf**ker!”
Damon’s fellow producer Carlton Cuse was just grateful that the conflict was ultimately worked out and folks we able to find out what happened to Jack, Kate, Sawyer, Lock and everyone else, when the premiere airs on Feb. 2.
“It was exciting for us,” said Carlton. “We were really happy we didn’t have to move our premiere.”
