She was America’s sweetheart as picture-perfect Marcia on The Brady Bunch, but after leaving the hit ’70s sitcom, Maureen McCormick struggled for years with bulimia and cocaine addiction. In 2004, the death of her mom, and problems with her father and brother, led to a new addiction: food. Here's another sneak peek at OK!'s interview with Maureen — only in the new issue of OK!.
Although she lost 30 pounds on Celebrity Fit Club in 2007, she quickly piled the pounds back on, hitting her all-time highest weight of 161 pounds last summer. But over the past 10 months, Maureen rededicated herself to diet and exercise, losing 50 pounds.
When did you decide to get healthy?
Last summer. I truly looked like I had totally let myself go. It’s been a really long, slow, but very natural and healthy journey.

When you did Celebrity Fit Club in 2007, did you think you’d stay slim forever?
I really did. But it happened very quickly, then all of a sudden, I’m back in real life and there were a lot of things I didn’t learn.
How do you feel about the pressure to be thin in Hollywood?
There’s a lot of pressure in Hollywood to be perfect and I don’t think that’s good at all. I used to compare myself to Susan Dey, who was so skinny on The Partridge Family. Now, I love to look at other women and enjoy their beauty.

Are you still against plastic surgery?
I’ve thought about it. A dermatologist told me, “You need Botox here and there.” But I was too scared, so I didn’t do it.
Do you feel like you have more confidence now than you did playing Marcia?
Totally. It’s a different type of confidence. I’ve never known this kind of happiness. You really can do anything you put your mind to in life!
