So Christmas is right around the corner and what better way to celebrate a holiday as sentimental and heartwarming as it than by picking up Rob Zombie's Halloween on DVD Tuesday. Right!? The film is Rob's retelling of the classic John Carpenter horror film. OK! spoke with the musician/director about the movie, Christmas and starting a family.

Why did you want to remake Halloween?

Well, I never really had plans to remake it. It was an opportunity that came my way. To me, Halloween was always really great and sometimes remakes aren't so great. So I felt the core of the movie was the central characters. My goal wasn't to replace it. People can love them both.

What did John Carpenter think of it?

I haven't talked to him since then. I was out and on tour when it came out.

What was like working with the Weinsteins on it?

It was great. It was a great experience. You really get a one-on-one relationship with them. We have a great relationship. In some of my other experiences you don't get that kind of support and it's sort of a drag.

What kind of movie do you want to make next?

I'm not sure, but it'll be something dark.

Do you have plans to have kids anytime soon with your wife, Sheri Moon?

No. I do what I love already and I have my next two years planned out. It doesn't interest me at all.

What are your plans for the holidays?

I'll be on tour. I play Madison Square Garden the day before Christmas.
