What to Do
There’s no need to rent a car in New Orleans; the French Quarter is walkable, and taxis are inexpensive.
Vampire fans can check out a walking tour of the Garden District, where former resident and Interview With the Vampire author Anne Rice set some of her novels.
Afterward, catch the uptown St. Charles streetcar and hit Rock ’N’ Bowl, a unique blend of bowling and live bands, from blues to zydeco. Renowned for its music scene, the city is gearing up for the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival, from April 23 to May 2.
