All is not well in in the land of Paris Hilton and Doug Reinhardt – the happy couple is doing fine, but a fight at a Miami night club caused a bit of a fuss last night after Doug came to his lady's aid.

Paris and her beau were partying it up at 1OAK at LIV in Miami when she decided she wanted to ask the DJ to play a certain song so she could dance to it. The couple went into the DJ booth, Paris asked, and the DJ declined.

Here's where things get tricky: one eyewitness told OK! that a bouncer or someone else pushed Paris, and the celebutante's knight-in-collared-shirt-armor stepped in to defend his girlfriend, saying it's totally inappropriate to push a girl when you're a big 'ol bouncer. Said bouncer then pushed Doug, and the throwdown was on.

As the two fought, "five other guys started to beat up Doug and pull him apart from the bouncer," the witness tells us. Paris and Doug decided to get out of there and tend to his bleeding lip.

A pal of Doug tells OK! the stand-up gentleman was simply "coming to the aid of his girlfriend and doing what any man should do; it's not okay to hit or push or get physical with a girl ever."

However, the DJ, Steve Angello, took to his Twitter page today, saying, "i cant believe i woke up last night to some of the bullsh** on the internet about what happened with Paris Hilton" and then, "for someone who claims to make records...dont come into a booth and ask me to play hip hop and then have your doorman slap me."

For her part, Paris has blogged about the showdown, saying:

"First of all, last night at a club my boyfriend and I were assaulted for no reason at all. The DJ (I don't even know his name cause he sucks so bad) was playing the worst music ever! I like certain techno music, but this was not even danceable and was frankly giving me a migraine. I asked one of my friends who runs the hotel if he could change the music and he said 'I'll lead you up to the DJ booth tell him and he'll play whatever you want.' So he walked Doug and I over there. I asked the DJ if he could please play Daft Punk or Bob Sinclair and he rudely snapped at me and was like 'I only play this kind of music.' I think he was jealous cause Bob Sinclair is a far better DJ then this guy by about a million times. He was so unbelievably rude and all because I asked to play one good song. Then out of nowhere his bodyguard (don't ask me why he has a bodyguard, like he really needs one. Ha) pushed me really hard, that's when my boyfriend, like my knight in shining armor, stepped in and told the guy to keep his hands off of me. Then all hell broke loose, it was like something out of a fight movie, it was so frightening. I had never seen anything like it in my life. Doug was fighting off like 6 guys. But he was of course stronger then them all but one of the idiots punched him in the face and busted open his lip. There was blood all over, I cried I was so upset and scared. It was ridiculous and for such a stupid reason, I cannot believe people behave this way, like ainmals! FYI this is not in my nature to be in club brawls, I;ve never been around anything like that. It was totally unprovoked and thank God Doug was there to rescue me. A man should NEVER put his hands on a woman in that manner. "

Then, Doug's publicist, Kira Costello of Anderson Group Public Relations, released a statement on his behalf to OK!, which reads: “There was an altercation at a club in Miami in which Doug and Paris were attacked and Doug was simply protecting his girlfriend. Both Doug and Paris are fine and no charges will be filed. After speaking with Mr. Reinhardt, Doug is 'shocked and surprised with everything that happened last night, but happy Paris is OK. ' ”

Angello's publicist also told OK! the fight was started by Paris. According to the rep, Paris repeatedly asked the DJ to play hip hop, and Angello refused. He says Paris then asked her security to punch the DJ, and they complied. The rep adds that Angello doesn't have a bodyguard.

Two sides to every story...
