Only days after giving a very revealing televised interview to Barbara Walters about his ongoing battle with pancreatic cancer, OK! has learned that actor Patrick Swayze check himself into the hospital.
Patrick, who has been battling cancer since early 2008, was supposed to make an appearance at a press conference Friday morning in L.A. to talk about his new A&E show The Beast, but when he was a no-show for the event, Robert DeBitetto, president of the cable network announced that the Dirty Dancing hunk had ""checked himself into the hospital this morning for observation after coming down with pneumonia."

The actor had told the cast and crew to continue with the press conference in spite of his absence and ill health.
One producer on The Beast told reporters, "for him, it's a bump in the road. We're all wishing him well."
Patrick's co-star Travis Fimmel said, "he's fearless, an icon. I can't say enough good things about the guy."
