Why, yes they do — and Prince William finally opens up about all of this in a preview snippet of the upcoming UK documentary Elizabeth: Queen, Wife, Mother. "I hadn't slept at all that night because obviously all the crowds were on The Mall," he says. "They were singing and cheering all night long. So the excitement of that, the nervousness of me, and everyone singing meant I slept for about half an hour."

The famously introverted prince also expressed disdain for the guest list made up by his grandmother, Queen Elizabeth, whose original guest list was full of hundreds of names that neither he nor Duchess Kate knew.

"She said start from your friends and then we'll add those we need to in due course. It's your day," he recalled.

Another big fear? Taking a royal nose-dive down the steps.

"The hardest thing was trying to walk down the stairs with my spurs on, sideways," he says. "I had visions of myself and my brother colliding and crashing down the stairs."

Thankfully, it all worked out, and while Wills acknowledges that he has "hard footsteps to fill," he appreciates and admires his grandmother and wants to pull from her years of experience.

"I would like to take all of her experiences, all of her knowledge and put it in a small box and to be able to constantly refer to it," he said. "There's not much wiggle room left for me to try and find my own path, but I will do."
