Here’s some more TV news-in-the-making I spotted while attending the 6th annual National Underwear Day sponsored by freshpair.com on Tuesday night.

The Real Housewives of New Jersey were out and about shooting installments for their upcoming version of the reality series franchise.

From the looks of things that night, there will be four wives hailing from the Garden State in the upcoming show.

The quartet was aptly jeweled and eager for their big (15 minute) break in the reality TV landscape.

Like any good starlet on the brink of discovery, they hung out at the fringe of the red carpet, trying to make inroads with the night’s host, Lydia Hearst and supermodel hottie Tyson Beckford.

While Tyson wasn’t in his skivvies (damn!), he did bring his son 10-year-old son Jordan to his first red carpet event.

One of the Housewives whipped out pictures of her own pre-teen to show to Tyson, who remarked, “Oh Jordan, I may have to set you up on a date.” So that’s how it works in Jersey!?

I was able to squeeze a little scoop from the gals. The Real Housewives of New Jersey is slated to premiere in January 2009.

I also caught up with Real Housewives of New York City’s Alex McCord, who of course, had her joint-at-the-hip husband Simon van Kempen in tow.

Alex sported a gauzy mini-dress that let her blue and red flowered under garments peek through.

“It’s National Underwear day, and this is John Galliano,” she exclaimed.

When I asked her how she felt about Real Housewives’ addition Kelly Bensimon, who joins the show in its second season, Alex replied coyly.

“It’s always interesting to add some into the mix,” she said. “So watch what happens.”

"Interesting," which really means catfight! I'm so there!
