Red Carpet Confidential: Chris Rock Talks Broken Resolutions, Oscar Advice

2013 has just begun, but already Chris Rock has failed at his New Year’s resolution.

“I tried to cut out porn,” the married comedian, 47, admits Monday during Celebrity Charades Annual Benefit Gala supporting the LAByrinth Theater Company held at Capitale in NYC. “Every year, no more porn. Day three — porn. laughs”

One area in which he does have expertise is at the Academy Awards. He hosted in 2005, and offers advice for stars attending this year’s kudofest, hosted by Family Guy creator Seth MacFarlane.

“Don’t be in the front row,” he says.

When it comes to Oscar favorites, this funny father of two pins his hopes on 9-year-old Oscar nominee and Beasts of the Southern Wild star Quvenzhané Wallis because of the impact of the win.

Leo DiCaprio is probably one of my favorite actresses,” he jokes, adding that his favorite movie is Django Unchained. “But it’s not going to change his life.’

He heads inside the event, where he faces off in a celebrity charades competition. When he is given the phrase “In Living Color” to act out, he points to Rosie Perez, who immediately starts dancing, and helps his team score another point.

Still, it isn’t enough. His Blue crew, which includes Padma Laskhmi, loses to the Silver team, which includes Paul Rudd and Billy Crudup.
